The Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre have consistently adhered to our position regarding the government’s Rwanda policy. Our unwavering stance emphasizes that the Rwanda Plan is not only impractical but also unlawful, posing a significant threat to the welfare of those seeking refuge.
The Rwanda Plan is in direct contradiction with established human rights standards, as it involves actions and policies that infringe upon and violate the fundamental principles and liberties inherent to all individuals. This misalignment with human rights underscores a significant divergence from the internationally recognised norms and values that safeguard the inherent dignity, equality, and freedoms of every person.
In light of the recent Supreme Court decision, we openly express our approval and appreciation for the judicial resolution on this matter. This reaffirms our commitment to advocating for policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of individuals in search of sanctuary.
