Medical and General Practitioner (GP) Services

The Meridian is a specialist GP (General Practitioner) practice for asylum seekers and refugees living in Coventry, it is based at the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre. The team consists of a lead GP, three practice nurses and support staff; all of whom have wide experience of dealing with the particular health issues of asylum seekers and refugees.

Clients are seen at dedicated clinics running five days a week, we offer a standard GP service with referral to the appropriate clinics and teams as necessary.

We offer a full range of general medical services:

  • Chronic illness
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Tuberculosis Screening
  • Level one sexual health service
  • Mental health screening
  • Phlebotomy
  • Vaccination and immunisation
  • Screening for Hep A,B,C , Sickle cell & thallasaemia
  • Child Health Surveillance and baby clinic
  • Maternity Services & Antenatal care
  • Contraceptive Services
  • Wound Management
  • Womens health
  • Smoking cessation

If required, interpreters can be provided for appointments.
