Immigration
We support clients applying for British citizenship, whether applying for naturalisation of adults or the registration of minors. Some applications for citizenship are straightforward, others can be more complicated and some involve the challenge of obtaining supporting evidence from the countries of origin.
Our Immigration service advises on the criteria for obtaining British citizenship. Support is provided to both new applicants for British citizenship and to those who have already applied but are encountering difficulties.
We provide immigration advice in a service regulated at Level 2 by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). A dedicated Immigration Caseworker is aided by volunteer caseworkers.
We advise around the following areas:
- Family Reunion
- Citizenship Applications
- Extension of Leave Applications
- EU Citizenship
- Travel Document Applications
"Separated from my wife and my children for nearly four years, I am now very happy to be reunited with them through the extraordinary and fantastic job done by the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre's Immigration Service"
The comment on the right is from a Congolese national granted Humanitarian Protection in the UK who we helped gain entry clearance for his family.
We supported an Iraqi national who had previously applied for naturalization as a British citizen, and had the application rejected by the Home Office. We were able to provide evidence and argue to the Home Office that the application should be reconsidered, and the application has now been successfully approved.
"I am more than happy because I am now a British citizen and I feel more secure and protected. My caseworker was so helpful with the way he represented me and my paperwork to the Home Office"
We supported a Zimbabwean national who had successfully gained his leave to remain and having lived and worked in the UK for over eight years was applying for British citizenship.
We supported a Dutch man working locally with an application to bring his wife, a Somali national living in Kenya, to the UK. His wife was successfully issued with an EEA Family Permit and they are now living as a family in Coventry and have had their first child.
