Despite a change of leadership the human rights situation in Zimbabwe continues to deteriorate sharply with continued human rights violations, organised violence and torture aimed at the media, political opposition, civil society, activists and human rights defenders. By 2010 around 5 million out of the 12.5 million population have required food aid.
