Though violence may have been reducing, thousands of civilians including children are being killed or injured in the continuing conflict. Reports of human rights abuses being routinely committed by all sides continue to emerge, with thousands of detainees being held, mostly without trial or charge. Many social, religious and political groups have fled the continuing systematic persecution.
